After many failures, Plankton closes the Chum Bucket and starts a new life in a faraway town. SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs, who does not believe that Plankton has truly changed, follow him.
When cooking up a new batch of Krabby Patties, Mr. Krabs accidentally sends the formula away to the other side of the ocean, and sends SpongeBob and Patrick to fetch it.
A little clown is left behind by the circus, and SpongeBob tries to help him find new work. The clown fails as a hot dog vendor, an office worker, a firefighter, and a baker, but is happily returned to the wild with other clowns.
Mr. Krabs wants to save five cents, so he has SpongeBob fired from his job. SpongeBob falls into a depression, and despite encouragement from Patrick, finds that he does not enjoy being unemployed. He takes his talents to multiple other restaurants, making Krabby Patty-style food that turns out to be delicious.
Man Ray rents Squidward’s house for the weekend. Despite Man Ray’s peaceful intentions, SpongeBob and Patrick provoke him and start a fight using objects in Squidward’s house. When Squidward returns from vacation, his house crumbles from the damage caused to it in the fight.
20,000 Patties Under the Sea: SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs turn an old submarine into a mobile Krusty Krab. Not to be undone by his competitor’s new gimmick, Plankton responds with his own traveling Chum Bucket, and the two rival restaurants engage in an undersea battle complete with torpedoes, a giant sea monster and chum.
